CITYWIDE – LIGHT SNOWFALL IS expected to begin in NYC around 10 a.m. on Monday and continue into the afternoon, reports PIX News. While the city will likely get less than an inch of accumulation, officials are still urging commuters and drivers to take care on slippery roads during the evening commute, and have issued a winter weather advisory. Temperatures will be well below freezing this week, with blustery winds placing the “real feel” in the teens. The city’s Department of Homeless Services has issued a “Code Blue” alert, and is asking the public to call 311 if they observe someone sleeping outside or who appears to be in distress; the city will dispatch an outreach team to aid that person.

NYC is escaping the worst of Winter Storm Blair, which is predicted to hit areas of the Atlantic coast with up to a foot of snow, including Washington, D.C.; thousands of flights were canceled over the weekend due to weather conditions.
