JAMAICA – A WEDNESDAY NIGHT mass shooting at a club in Jamaica left at least 10 people injured, reports amNY, but none dead. Police said they are searching for a group of four men who shortly before midnight approached the Amazura dance hall, where a line of people were waiting to enter, and opened fire, shooting more than 30 times before fleeing into “a light-colored sedan with out-of-state plates.” Sources told amNY that the event at the club that night is believed to have been a memorial for a slain gang member; NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said that a possible gang-related motivation for the mass shooting is “one of the avenues that we’re pursuing.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X @NYPDTips.
