Brooklyn startup ‘It’s Electric’ aims to simplify charging EVs in cities
CITYWIDE — BROOKLYN STARTUP ‘It’s Electric’ plans to install small curbside chargers in front of homes and businesses and compensate property owners for the electricity they provide, the New York Post reports. The way it works: Customers pay around $10 per charging session via the app or a credit card, and most of that money is passed on to the person providing the location and the electrical connection. So far, a handful of chargers have been installed around the company’s Brooklyn Navy Yard headquarters and at a few other places around the borough.
The Crown Heights founders decided to start the company after buying an EV during the pandemic and finding no convenient way to charge it, the couple told the Post.
