You can now renew your U.S. passport online
NATIONWIDE — THE STATE DEPARTMENT has launched an online passport renewal service (“OPR 2.0”) for eligible adults over the age of 25 wishing to renew their passports online, instead of mailing in renewal form DS-82. The OPR 2.0 system allows Americans to apply from home or from their phone without having to get a professional picture or submit paper applications, passports or checks by mail, according to the agency. Express service (if you plan to travel in under 6 weeks) is not available, however, and applicants must live in the U.S.
Applicants may visit the State Department website to learn more and submit their renewal.
