Canarsie man charged in stabbing wife to death, injuring son

CANARSIE — POLICE HAVE ARRESTED a man accused in the stabbing death of his wife, 47-year-old Antoinette Stewart-Gordon, and slashing the hand of their 15-year-old son. Lewis Gordon, 45, was arrested on Dec. 23 at 2:15 p.m. and charged with murder in the second degree, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Authorities had responded on Dec. 22 to a distress call at 9:28 p.m. at a residence on East 81st Street, according to the NYPD. Officers discovered Stewart-Gordon suffering from multiple stab wounds to her neck and abdomen. Her son was found with a hand laceration. Both victims were rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where Stewart-Gordon was pronounced dead and where her son was being treated.

Court records show he was remanded without bail by Judge Jung A. Park in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
