Brooklyn Democrats are congratulating Dr. Larry He, who will serve as the new district leader for Assembly District 47. Longtime District Leader Charles Ragusa has officially retired after serving in that post for 42 years. Both Ragusa and Dr. He have worked extensively with the 47th’s  female District Leader Nancy Tong, who nominated He as a successor.

“We look forward to continuing our legacy of helping Brooklynites in our diverse district,” said DL Tong.

Both Ragusa and Dr. He have served the community officially as staff members of Assemblymember William Colton, the elected member from the 47th assembly district.

“We wish the very best for Charles Ragusa — and join countless Brooklynites in thanking Ragusa for his five decades of exemplary activism for our borough and AD47,” said Brooklyn Dems Chair and Assemblymember (AD42) Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn. “Ragusa was elected District Leader in 1982, and has always since been a steadfast champion focused on fostering an inclusive community.”
