Man killed in East New York fire

EAST NEW YORK — A DEADLY FIRE BROKE OUT in an apartment building in East New York, Brooklyn around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, on Vermont Street between Blake and Dumont avenues, PIX11 reports. One man died and another was critically injured; a firefighter was also injured. At least 60 FDNY personnel, including EMS responders, were at the scene. The deceased man was believed to be in his fifties.

Flames were under control by 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
