Now in its fourth year, Lightscape offers new light installations alongside returning favorites, showcasing works from artists across 10 countries and three continents.

This year’s highlights include themed spaces like Lightscape Lodge and Lightscape Bar, where visitors can enjoy seasonal cocktails like the Campfire Old Fashioned with a brûléed marshmallow skewer or the Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot Glass with housemade chocolate rum horchata. On other nights, the light show is open to all ages, with free entry for children aged two and under.

“Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s gorgeous, after-dark illuminated spectacular is back through January 5, 2025. Lightscape, an illuminated trail of art from local and international artists, featuring the iconic Winter Cathedral, all set to over a million lights, color and music. As always, a curated playlist of music brings the light art to life, and there will be food concessions along the trail that will still offer seasonal treats like hot cocoa, hot cider, and mulled wine as well as light bites, cookies and sweets.” — Shaye Weaver, Time Out

“Since its debut, the immersive after-dark event has become a seasonal staple, attracting New Yorkers and visitors of all ages to experience the enchanting illuminated trail. New installations include Ribbon Tunnel by Culture Creative, a kaleidoscopic light display near Bluebell Wood and Butterfly Effect by Masamichi Shimada on Lily Pool Terrace.” — Adam Daly, Brooklyn Paper

Nosferatu (1922) Live Scored presented by Resounding Silents @ BK Art Haus

Film, Music, Silent Film

Brooklyn Art Haus, 24 Marcy Ave, Williamsburg

Thursday, Dec. 19 @ 7:30 p.m. with additional showtimes Friday and Saturday

Cinephiles and music lovers are invited to a special holiday screening of the original “Nosferatu” silent horror film from 1922. This unique experience brings to life F.W. Murnau’s classic with an original live score by Resounding Silents founder Anthime Miller and electronic musician FRIPP.

In celebration of the upcoming Robert Eggers remake, the duo blends cello, electronics, prepared piano and found percussion to create an immersive, otherworldly soundscape that heightens the haunting tale of Count Orlok. Tickets are $25 for general admission or $35 for VIP table seating close to the band.

“Eggers’ new take on ‘Nosferatu is the latest incarnation of a legendary vampire tale whose roots stretch back over a century. The 2024 film is intended as a remake of the original 1922 ‘Nosferatu.’ A silent film, the original ‘Nosferatu’ was directed by F.W. Murnau, and starred Max Schreck as the sinister Count Orlok. The original film’s full title is ‘Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror,’ or in the original German, ‘Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie des Grauens.’ “Nosferatu” is not the name of a character, but rather, an archaic Romanian word for a vampire, potentially derived from the Romanian ‘nesuferitu,’ meaning “the offensive one.” — Oscar Kim Bauman, Yahoo Entertainment

“Together, Brooklyn Art Haus and The Mouth are an art gallery, performance space, restaurant, bar and a coffee shop all in one and often all at the same time. The description may sound like a mouthful, but co-founder Isaac Bush is incredibly passionate about the shared space and what it can achieve.” — Jennifer Rosili-Gentile, Greenpointers

“Despite opening way back in 2017 (when it became the eco-minded hotel brand’s second New York City property), 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge still retains that coveted air of newness. Maybe it’s the cool, industrial-style architecture or the earthy greenery-filled finishes; or maybe even the laidback service style – whatever it is, something has kept 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge at the top of its game, even in the city that never sleeps.” — Kim Ayling, Elite Traveler

“Harriet’s Rooftop provided a somewhat casual, laid-back atmosphere, although it is surrounded by breathtaking skyline views. Harriet’s allows one to see Beautifully lit-up buildings in the distance, & we enjoyed going to Harriet’s Rooftop & Lounge w/ last Wednesday’s lovely weather. Both the Rooftop & lounge have fabulous seating & bar areas. 4 stars for the beautiful views!” — Alexis M., Yelp
