Fire at the Moxy: Williamsburg hotel’s outdoor space goes up in flames

WILLIAMSBURG — THE OUTDOOR DINING AREA of the trendy Moxy Williamsburg hotel went up in flames early Wednesday morning, leading to an evacuation of the hotel, located at 353 Bedford Ave., abc7 reports. No one was injured in the conflagration. Greenpointers blog published dramatic photos of the fire and its aftermath.

In March 2013, the Brooklyn Eagle reported that the Moxy Hotel was set to open a Dolly Parton-themed nightclub soundroom, dubbed Jolene, featuring “bold pink textures and decor pieces … including a painted ceiling and modular furniture.”
