Adams to meet with Trump’s ‘Border Czar’ today
CITY HALL — MAYOR ERIC ADAMS is set to meet with the incoming presidential administration’s “Border Czar” Tom Homan at City Hall at 1 p.m. today. Homan was the architect of the policy that separated families during the first Trump administration, which now plans to deport all 11 million undocumented people living in the U.S. and eliminate birthright citizenship, according to NBC. In an interview with WCBS-TV’s Marcia Kramer on Dec. 8, Adams said his focus was on dealing with “the small number of violent offenders who are making their way into our country. In particular, it’s a very dangerous Venezuelan gang.”
Adams is facing flack from immigrant groups and political opponents for the planned meeting. Mayoral candidate Scott Stringer questioned Adams’ motivation in a release Thursday, noting that Adams “is seeking a federal pardon and the good graces of Donald Trump.”
