NATIONWIDE — A GYRO SANDWICH MEAL KIT HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF SHELVES AT SAM’S CLUB stores nationwide because it contains a cucumber ingredient linked to a Baloian Farms recall, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has announced. Fresh Creative Foods issued a voluntary recall of its Gyro Sandwich Express Meal Kit.

The cucumbers in the yogurt tzatziki sauce are potentially contaminated with salmonella, a pathogen that could be deadly to people with suppressed immune systems, children and the elderly. Consumers who have purchased these kits should not consume any part of the kits. The FDA advises that anyone who’s uncertain about whether the purchased product is impacted, should discard it and visit any Sam’s Club (with receipt or card) for a full refund.

The FDA announced on December 9 that Fresh Creative Foods is no longer using cucumbers from the supplier.
