Brooklyn MTA cleaner avoids charges for stabbing man at Atlantic Avenue
ATLANTIC AVE. & BARCLAYS — THE MTA WORKER who allegedly slashed a man in the face on a subway platform at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center subway station last Monday has not been charged by District Attorney Eric Gonzales, because the DA and police cannot find the victim, according to the New York Daily News. Sources told the Daily News that the DA is deferring charges of felony and misdemeanor assault and criminal weapon possession while the NYPD searches for the other man.
Reportedly, the man was sleeping on the D train platform when the cleaner spilled chemical cleanser on him, leading to a confrontation and the knife usage. Security cameras did not capture the entire incident.
