F Train covered in political posters before Daniel Penny ruling
CONEY ISLAND — THE NYPD IS LOOKING FOR an unidentified group of at least nine individuals who stuck political posters all over the interior of a northbound F train at Neptune Avenue station around 4:20 a.m. on Dec. 5, reports amNY. The messaging on the posters appears to be critical of the actions of Daniel Penny, who was on Monday found not guilty in the death of Jordan Neely in May of 2023, displaying slogans like “A man was lynched here.”
According to Hyperallergic, the protesters said the slogans on the posters relate to messaging used by the NAACP from 1920 to 1938 in anti-lynching campaigning. The posters aesthetically resemble formal advertisements.
