Meeting Tuesday on Gowanus Combined Sewer Overflow tank project

GOWANUS — A VIRTUAL MEETING to update the Gowanus community on the Combined Sewer Overflow retention tank project will take place Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The wastewater retention complex, which will prevent raw sewage from being dumped into the Gowanus Canal during rain storms, is located at 270 Nevins St. and nearby properties, which are part of the Gowanus Canal Superfund site. Construction began in March 2023. Besides a headhouse and underground tanks, the project will include a 1.6 acre public park.
