CROWN HEIGHTS — THE NYPD AND CRIME STOPPERS are offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment/conviction of the person who shot and killed Denzel Chan, 25, a spectator at the West Indian American Day Parade, police said Thursday. At roughly 2:25 p.m. on Sept. 3, the unknown attacker opened fire on a group of spectators at 307 Eastern Parkway, hitting Chan and four others: one woman and three men, who survived their injuries. This was the first time Chan, originally from Texas, had attended the parade.

“He came from Texas and decided he wanted to join Labor Day with the rest of us as we go out there. It’s just tragic,” Chan’s cousin Taeshawn John told NY1 after the murder.

Up to $3,500 will be payable by Crime Stoppers upon arrest and indictment, and $6,500 by NYPD upon arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), on X @NYPDTips or by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website.
