BENSONHURST — AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN BENSONHURST is receiving $1.5 million in funding from the City Council to upgrade and renovate its auditorium. Councilmember Susan Zhuang presented a check to school officials on Nov. 27, just before Thanksgiving, with funding that she allocated along with City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. Thanking her colleagues in government, Zhuang said, “Special thanks also go out to Principal Jessica Drzewucki for her strong leadership of P.S. 128 and the wonderful teachers and support staff, including the PTA, who are there for the students every day. P.S. 128 is an excellent public school and this funding will go a long way to ensuring that the students continue to have the resources they need in order to succeed.”

This capital funding is part of Councilmember Zhuang’s strong commitment to ensuring every public school in her district has the necessary resources. As part of this year’s budget, Zhuang allocated or helped allocate over $6.4 million to schools specifically. She pointed out that every school that requested funding received it.
