Free Christmas cheer in Downtown Brooklyn

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN – CITY POINT MALL AT Albee Square is hosting a series of family-friendly holiday events this month, celebrating the winter season. Families can score a free portrait with Santa at a pop-up photo studio, with extras available for a fee, this weekend and next weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; reservations and more information are available online. This Saturday, Dec. 7, the Brooklyn Ballet’s Sugar Plum Fairy will also be making an appearance at the mall, from 10 a.m. to noon. And on Friday, Dec. 6, the DeKalb Market on the mall’s lower level will host a Christmas tree lighting at its Flatbush Avenue entrance at 5 p.m., with free hot cocoa and cookies.

Paid opportunities to meet Santa also include at Santa Land in Atlantic Terminal through Dec. 24, and at Dave and Buster’s Breakfast with Santa on the morning of Dec. 7.
