MARINE PARK – SOUTHERN BROOKLYN’S HISTORIC Hendrick I. Lott House is set to host a Christmas tree lighting ceremony this week. The Lott House is one of New York City’s oldest remaining structures, with the main building constructed in 1800 and incorporating parts of an earlier 1720 farmhouse, built by the Dutch Lott family of farmers. The tree lighting will also feature hot cocoa and cookies, as well as a callback to the city’s earlier days in an opportunity to meet Sinterklaas, the Dutch name for Santa.

The Lott House tree lighting will take place on Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m., at 940 East 36th Street in Marine Park.
