Coney Island development gets Brooklyn coffee micro-chain
CONEY ISLAND — RESIDENTS IN CONEY ISLAND have a new gourmet coffee shop just steps from the beach, reports the New York Post, one of a host of amenities in a recently completed eco-friendly development that heralds the area’s middle class revival.
The local chain, Milk and Honey, whose other locations are in Bay Ridge and Ditmas Park, specializes in breakfast and brunch foods as well as cups of Joe. The company’s new store is at 1515 Surf, a modern complex that boasts of an extensive geothermal heating system, located across the street from Maimonides Park, home of the Cyclones.
1515 Surf also offers more than 450 new apartments for the area, 130 of them affordable housing.
