Chabad Rabbis gather in Crown Hts. for annual conference
CROWN HEIGHTS AND BERGEN BEACH — RABBIS AND GUESTS NUMBERING 6,500 gathered in New York in aftermath of the terror attack in the United Arab Emirates that killed Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad emissary who was based in that country. Rabbi Yisroel Kozlovsky, co-director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Mumbai, India, decided in the midst of his grief to recommit to his slain friend’s work. Kozlovsky and thousands of Rabbi Zvi Kogan’s colleagues gathered during Thanksgiving weekend for the 41st annual International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries, also known as the Kinus Hashluchim, which carried the themes of hope and unity and took place Nov. 27 to Dec. 1. The gathering unites more than 6,500 rabbis and lay leaders from all 50 U.S. states and more than 100 countries and territories around the world bringing them to the movement’s headquarters on Eastern Parkway and other parts of the borough.
