Pop-up ice rinks opening this week
WILLIAMSBURG – THREE POP-UP ICE rinks are opening for the season around Brooklyn this week, creating opportunities for winter fun for skaters of all skill levels. Brooklyn Bridge Park’s returning Roebling Rink under the Brooklyn Bridge opened on Monday, and offers stellar views of the lower Manhattan skyline for just $10 a session booked online (with select free sessions available for Brooklyn residents. A new ice rink at Domino Park in Williamsburg also opened on Monday, with tickets starting at $12 for New Yorkers in a converted plaza along the waterfront. And in Sunset Park, Industry City’s pop-up rink is set to return on Wednesday at the warehouse complex’s courtyard, with session and rental prices starting at $10.
For the littlest skaters, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum is offering a softer experience: kids and families can take to the synthetic ArtRink in sock booties and explore the museum’s rooftop, featuring 16 artworks and four artist-designed playhouses. Tickets are $5 on top of museum admission fees.
