Boerum Hill mixed-use development is making progress

BOERUM HILL — AN 8-STORY APARTMENT TOWER development at 540 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn is shaping up, New York YIMBY reports. Located between Third and Fourth avenues, the two-tower, 159-unit construction site’s southern portion facing Pacific Street has reached its eighth-floor slab, and only one more level of columns will be required to top out. Work on the northern portion facing Atlantic Avenue is still progressing below grade. Designed by NA Design Studio and developed by JSC Realty, the interior renderings of the building have a hardwood-and-marble aesthetic. The development is expected to be completed in fall 2025, according to YIMBY.

The construction complex is located at the former site of a 1924 factory building that once housed the Brooklyn Daily Times — where Walt Whitman worked as an editor after leaving the Brooklyn Eagle, according to Brownstoner.
