U.S. Sen. Gillibrand to chair Senate UFO hearing on Tuesday
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. SEN. KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND (D- New York) is set to chair a hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 19 on the activities of the Pentagon’s UFO office — officially called the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). AARO’s new director, Jon T. Kosloski, will testify before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities starting at 4:30 p.m., following a closed-door session off-limits to the public. Gillibrand created AARO in 2022 to focus the Department of Defense on sharing data on UFO sightings (now called UAP sightings, or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena sightings), and to address related national security concerns and other issues.
Despite some high-profile witnesses recently claiming a government coverup, AARO says it has found “no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity or technology,” and has no indication that UFOs are “attributable to foreign adversaries,” according to space.com. The hearing will be livestreamed at the website of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee.
