Sanitation Dept., New Utrecht Library hold electronic waste collection

BATH BEACH/NEW UTRECHT — Residents of Bath Beach, Bensonhurst and New Utrecht Community Board 11 can bring their old or non-functioning household and office-type electronic waste to a collection that the Department of Sanitation will hold this Saturday, Nov. 23, at the New Utrecht Library in Bensonhurst. Acceptable e-waste items include household and office desktop-computers, laptops, keyboards, printers and smaller entertainment electronics like video game consoles, MP3 players and cell phones, as well as televisions, VCRs, DVRs and DVDs. All sensitive data should first be erased from the devices. The e-waste collection, which Community Board 11 announced in this week’s newsletter,  runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Utrecht Library, 1743 86th St at Bay 17th St., in the Bath Beach/New Utrecht vicinity.

However, this drive cannot accept commercial e-waste, household appliances, air conditioners, batteries or lightbulbs.
