PARK SLOPE — NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital’s new Obstetrics and Gynecology Practice and Imaging Center opened to patients late last week after a ribbon-cutting earlier this month. The unit, located at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital’s Center for Community Health, features state-of-the-art imaging technology, 21 exam rooms and expanded same-day access for patients. This center gives the Brooklyn community access to prenatal imaging and testing, gynecologic imaging, breast imaging and more.

The opening of the Ob/Gyn Practice and Imaging Center advances NewYork-Presbyterian’s mission of providing accessible, world-class care to all patients.

Dr. Denise Howard, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist said, “The opening of this unit represents an opportunity for us to provide the full scope of OB/GYN services to the people of Brooklyn, to improve access to care and to address health disparities through our specific programs and our innovative approach to care delivery. I look forward to making a difference in the lives of people in the Brooklyn community.”

NewYork Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital was chartered originally on May 27, 1881 and pre-dating the Brooklyn Bridge opening by almost two years, according to the General Commission on Archives and History (GCAH), an agency of The United Methodist Church. What was then called New York Methodist Hospital entered into a relationship with NewYork Presbyterian Hospital system in 2016, according to NYP, and officially became part of that network in 2017.
