UNION SQUARE — LOOK UP: Union Square Partnership on Monday announced that its newest public art installation — “The Space Between Us” by Red Hook multimedia artist Risha Gorig — is floating above Union Square Park in Manhattan and will be on display through May 2025. Floating 15 feet in the air, the installation consists of twin chairs rising above the surrounding area, artistically representing public discourse, USP said in a release.

TSBU was previously on display at Fulton Ferry Landing in Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2000. At that time, “the work highlighted the divides within the country and the gap between the working class and financial power,” USP said.
