Park Slope tree lighting this month

PARK SLOPE – THE PARK SLOPE 5th Avenue Business Improvement District on Friday announced its 15th annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Celebration is set for Saturday, Nov. 30, at 5:15 sharp, kicking off the holiday season on 5th Avenue. And starting at 4:30 p.m. at the 4th Street Plaza on the corner of 5th Avenue, kids and families can enjoy free photos and postcards with Santa, bubble blowing, Mexican hot chocolate, music and arts and crafts; the BID is also collecting toys for the Camp Friendship toy drive.

The Park Slope 5th Avenue Tree Lighting also marks the 15th anniversary of Small Business Saturday on the street, in the epicenter of the Shop Local/Shop Small movement. The neighborhood is home to more than 525 independently owned shops and restaurants.
