Update: Police release new photo of subway mugging suspect

GOWANUS – POLICE HAVE RELEASED a new image of the man suspected of punching a victim during an attempted robbery at the 4th Avenue/9th Street subway station last week.

The suspect is an unknown man who shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 6, approached a 40-year-old man on the southbound N platform of the station, and forcibly tried to take the victim’s cellphone. During the attempt, the victim was punched about the body multiple times; the culprit then fled on foot to parts unknown. The victim was taken to a local hospital.
