Brooklyn’s Palestinian restaurant Ayat comes to Bushwick and Princeton, New Jersey
BROOKLYN & NEW JERSEY — AYAT, A NOTABLE local restaurant chain which serves Levantine and Palestinian food, has opened up a new location in Princeton, New Jersey. The Jersey iteration of Ayat comes after the restaurant, whose original location launched in Bay Ridge in 2020, also opened franchises in Industry City, Ditmas Park and the Lower East Side, as well as Allentown in Pennsylvania.
A Bushwick location will also be opening soon across from Maria Hernandez Park.
The restaurant’s namesake and co-leader, Ayat Masoud, and her husband Abdul Elenani, put a modern twist on the ancient cuisine in dedication to their loving marriage. The couple earlier this year hosted an interfaith Shabbat dinner that drew a crowd of 1,300 for a night of healing outreach.
“AYAT is a bistro where you will find honest, authentic Palestinian food made with love. I am confident you will find this here because this bistro was created in honor of my wife, Ayat,” writes the establishment on its website. “Ayat is honest, hardworking, and loves her career; but there is a different kind of love that radiates through her when she is cooking.”
