Police seek smoker who beat MTA worker
EAST NEW YORK – POLICE REPORT THAT on the morning of Friday, Nov. 1, an MTA train operator was physically attacked after telling a passenger to stop smoking marijuana at the New Lots Avenue 3 train terminus. The victim, a 58-year-old man, observed an unidentified man smoking on the southbound platform and asked him to extinguish it, at which point the attacker punched the victim multiple times in the head and knocked him to the ground, then fled on a southbound 3 train. The victim sustained pain and bruising throughout the body and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
