BENSONHURST — NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WHICH HAVE RECEIVED DISCRETIONARY FUNDING from the city are invited to attend a New York City Council virtual workshop being offered Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at 3 p.m.. City Councilmember Susan Zhuang (D-43) and the Non-Profit Help Desk (NPHD) are sponsoring this 90-minute workshop, which is geared for non-profits, and which aims to help these organizations effectively and efficiently receive the contract necessary to expense, receive funds, and report on their work.  Questions and discussion will be welcomed. Space in the workshop is limited. Non-profit organizations interested in attending must RSVP on Eventbrite

“The NYC contracting process can be intimidating and confusing for many non-profits,” said Zhuang.  “That is why I am happy to partner with NPHD on this virtual workshop to ensure that non-profit organizations have the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the contracting process. The inability to handle the contracting process should not be a barrier to non-profits receiving the funding they need or to using the funding they have been allocated.  This virtual workshop will provide non-profit organizations with the information they need to properly use the discretionary funding they were allocated.”

The Non-Profit Help Desk is under the umbrella of the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island. During December, the Non-Profit Help Desk will also be giving workshops on topics such as forming 501(c)3 organizations and harnessing AI.
