MTA to host 2025–2029 Capital Plan open house in Brooklyn on Nov. 21
BOROUGH HALL — THE MTA ANNOUNCED FRIDAY it will host an open house on its 2025–2029 Capital Plan at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 4-7 p.m. The event will feature posters, pamphlets and videos explaining the plan, with agency representatives on hand.
“We’re looking forward to telling Brooklynites how we plan to build better, faster and cheaper projects to secure a new generation of great public transit,” MTA Construction & Development President Jamie Torres-Springer said in a release. MTA described the Capital Plan as “a historic $68.4 billion investment in the region’s subways, buses, railroads, bridges and tunnels over the next five years.”
According to a report released in September by NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, however, the MTA must somehow find billions in new funds to pay for the plan, “even as the state tries to resolve the $15 billion gap in revenue created by the pause on congestion pricing.”
