Totally needless toilet paper shortages linked to dock worker strike
NATIONWIDE — TOILET PAPER IS SELLING OUT following the start of the major port strike, with photos on social media showing empty shelves at Target and Costco stores across the country. The lack of toilet paper isn’t a direct result of the strike — it’s because of panic buying, CNN reports.
The strike will have “absolutely zero” impact on the supply of toilet paper, since more than 90% of U.S. toilet paper comes from domestic factories, CNN points out. People would be better off loading up on bananas, as more than half of the country’s banana imports come in through the ports being struck.
