Brooklyn man charged after confessing to assault of 12-year-old
BROOKLYN/QUEENS — A BROOKLYN MAN, KADEEM LAGUERRE, WAS ARRESTED FOR GROPING AND SPITTING ON A 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN MASPETH, according to the NYPD and the news website Qns.com. Laguerre, 27, allegedly attacked the young girl near 71st Street and 54th Avenue, within the 104th Precinct on Friday, Sept. 20, according to an NYPD report issued before his arrest.
Laguerre was recorded on surveillance footage and later confessed to a Special Victims Unit detective when shown a still image from the incident. He faces charges including first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. During the incident, which happened around 8:10 a.m. that Friday, a 12-year-old girl was walking in the aforementioned vicinity when Laguerre approached her, then spat on her and grabbed her buttocks. He fled. The EMS transported the girl to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition. LaGuerre has since been charged with first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Bail was set at $7,000 and bond at $15,000.
The DA’s Office and Queens SVU are still investigating the case and have specially trained professionals who can speak to young victims in a safe environment. The NYPD is asking any other victims to come forward by calling the NYPD’s Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-646-610-7273.
