BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — NEIGHBORS OF MAYOR ERIC ADAMS HAVE JOINED GROWING CALLS for his resignation following his indictment on charges of bribery, wire fraud and soliciting illegal donations, reports the Brooklyn Paper.

Outside Adams’ Lafayette Avenue brownstone on Thursday, several residents expressed frustration and concern over the corruption allegations tied to his now-public relationship with Turkish officials.

One local, Emerson Iannone, criticized Adams’ leadership, stating, “Should he resign just because of this? I think he should have resigned for a lot of other things,” naming as examples the budget cuts to libraries and parks.

Other neighbors, like Allisa Zladimir, were shocked to learn Adams owned the property, while another anonymous resident accused him of neglecting his duties both as a mayor and a neighbor, particularly citing ongoing rat infestations around his property.

One neighbor suggested that Adams should rehabilitate the Lafayette Avenue building and repurpose it as affordable housing or even donate it as a gift-in-kind to the city.
