CITYWIDE — THE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP EARTHJUSTICE is also praising Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice Arthur F. Engoron’s ruling on two lawsuits challenging the pause to congestion pricing.

“The Governor tried to shut the courthouse doors to New Yorkers who are concerned about the air we breathe, the cars crowding our streets, our underfunded public transit, and the future of our planet,” reads a statement from Dror Ladin, Senior Attorney at Earthjustice. “The judge rejected the Governor’s effort to shield her disastrous decision to block congestion pricing and confirmed that her decisions are not above the law.”

The defendants have until October 15 to respond to the lawsuit filed on July 25, 2024 by Earthjustice on behalf of Riders Alliance, the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, and the Sierra Club.
