NATIONWIDE — LACTAID BRAND MILK IS BEING RECALLED for the potential presence of almonds, which are a nut allergen, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced over the weekend. The Lynnfield, Massachusetts plant that packages the milk, HP Hood LLC is recalling five varieties of 96 oz (3/4 gallon size) containers of LACTAID Milk because the product may contain trace amounts of almond not listed on the label.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. This issue was discovered as a result of routine maintenance programs which revealed the potential for trace amounts of almonds. The recall affects the whole, 2%, 1%, fat free  and calcium enriched milk varieties in the aforementioned size, and with expiration dates ranging from Nov. 22 to Dec. 5, 2024 that were distributed in 27 states, including New York. This voluntary recall applies to only those products that contain the code 51-4109 P2 and the Best By Date.

Consumers who purchased the product may return it to the retail location where the purchase was made for a full refund or exchange, or call Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423 Monday through Friday from 9 AM ET to 5:00 PM ET
