BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Friends of a man fatally stabbed in Bedford-Stuyvesant have established a GoFundMe campaign to help the victim’s immediate family. The victim, Joshua Wahab (whose name the NYPD had initially withheld) was stabbed around 12:30 a.m.  on Sunday, Sept. 15, on Nostrand Ave. near Fulton Street. Doctors at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Medical Center were unable to save him

The GoFundMe, which Joshua Wahab’s friends Jeremy Balrup and Brandon Williams co-organized, received anonymous donations toward a $10,000 goal, to given directly to Mr. Wahab’s mother and sisters to pay for funeral expenses for a service scheduled at the end of September.

Meanwhile, Wahab’s family is calling for justice, after videos of the attack showed other people in the vicinity not offering aid, News12 Brooklyn reports. The family is also angry that they were denied access to see or claim their body and to inter him according to the practices of their Muslim faith.
