The Brownsville Community Justice Center is set to host the fifth B-Live Music and Arts Festival on Sept. 21, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dr. Green Playground in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The festival celebrates the neighborhood’s cultural heritage and future, highlighting local talent, entrepreneurism and community spirit.

The free, family-friendly event aims to foster unity, safety and strength in Brownsville by featuring live music performances, interactive installations, free services and local food vendors. Attendees can enjoy a diverse lineup of local musicians, explore immersive art experiences and access various community resources. This year’s festival will take place at Dr. Green Playground, located at Sutter Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard.

The Brownsville Community Justice Center, a program of the Center for Justice Innovation, works to reduce crime and incarceration, strengthen community cohesion, and enhance public safety in the neighborhood. Through partnerships and programs, the Center seeks to build a safer, more vibrant Brownsville for all residents. The B-Live Festival aligns with this mission by bringing together the community in celebration of its culture and potential.

The festival is supported by sponsors including BRIC Arts & Media, Warner Brothers Music Group and Community Offshore Wind-National Grid.

The Center for Justice Innovation, which oversees the Brownsville Community Justice Center, is dedicated to promoting safety and racial justice. Since its founding in 1996, the Center has worked alongside community members, courts, and those most affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier communities nationwide.
