BENSONHURST —  FOUR BURGLARS GAVE A FAMILY A RUDE AWAKENING on Thursday, Sept.12, around 4 a.m., when they jumped through a window of a Bensonhurst home on the 1900 block of 80th Street, pistol-whipping and punching a 34-year-old man and a 41-year-old man upon entry, according to News12 Brooklyn and other sources. The foursome then tied up the two male victims as well as a 19-year-old woman also in the home; police later found her uninjured. After restraining the three people, the thieves scoured the house for valuables, leaving the house with purses, jewelry and $20,000 in cash. The perpetrators, who were wearing dark clothing, fled in a darkly colored vehicle after their plunder.

The armed burglary shocked neighbors in what is a stable neighborhood, prompting some to say they’re getting surveillance equipment. Anyone with information regarding the incident can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips.
