Man stabbed to death near Brookdale Hospital

BROWNSVILLE — A MAN WAS STABBED near Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brownsville early Friday morning, police said. Despite his proximity to care, he later died. Police responded to a 6:11 a.m. call to 911 about a man stabbed at Rockaway Parkway and Brookdale Plaza, next to the hospital entrance. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 52-year-old man conscious and alert with two puncture wounds to the back. He was brought into the hospital “by private means,” where he was later pronounced deceased, police said. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification.
