SUNSET PARK AND DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — POLICE HAVE ARRESTED THE MAN WHO STOLE A TOW TRUCK, slamming it into multiple vehicles during a road rage incident last week on 53rd Street now faces more than a dozen charges, according to case documents from the NY State Unified Court System and TMZ.

Earlier this week, the man, whom the NYPD has since identified as 55-year-old Russell Laiosa of East Islip (Suffolk County) assaulted a tow truck operator who was confiscating Laoisa’s SUV for an undisclosed reason, within the 72nd Precinct. Laoisa attempted to drive away in the tow truck with his own vehicle still hitched, damaging several parked vehicles in the process. Laoisa, who appeared Tuesday, Sept. 10, before Judge Jennifer Tubridy in NYC Criminal Court, has pleaded not guilty to 16 counts, including grand larceny, reckless endangerment, property damage, leaving the scene of an accident and robbery. His driver license has also been suspended.

Laiosa was scheduled to make his next appearance on Friday morning, Sept. 13 before Judge Dale Fong-Frederick at Criminal Court on Jay St.
