Packaged raisins recalled for containing undeclared sulfites
NEW YORK/NATIONWIDE — Terrafina Golden Raisins sold in New York were given the FDA’s highest risk category due to an undeclared allergen. New Jersey-based food manufacturer Sunco & Frenchie LLC recalled two batches of their 10-oz Terrafina Golden Raisins due to fears that they may contain undeclared sulfites. The product, sold in New York, was packaged in a clear plastic square-shaped container with a brown-and-orange label. The recall was initiated after New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors had conducted routine sampling. Subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory revealed that the sulfite-containing product was distributed from the Bronx in packages that did not reveal the presence of sulfites.
Consumers who have purchased terrafina brand golden raisins are urged not to consume the products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 973-478-1011 from Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT.
