Mazel Tov! Ben Platt and Noah Galvin tie the celebrity knot in Brooklyn
RED HOOK — THE COUPLE WHO STARRED IN POPULAR BROADWAY MUSICAL “DEAR EVAN HANSEN,” Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, officially became husbands last Sunday at the Pioneer Works in Red Hook. The nuptials took place over the course of multiple days at several venues across New York, and they also incorporated the couple’s religious traditions, such as a Shabbat dinner, according to an Instagram post of the wedding. They held an after-party with a musical theater sing-along. The couple had taken some time to make it official: they began dating in 2020, and were engaged in 2022, according to Billboard. Nonetheless, the beaus’ relationship appears to be very strong, with Platt citing Galvin as the inspiration for his most recent album, “Honeymind.”
“Dear Evan Hansen” is a musical that centers around Evan Hansen, a socially anxious high school student who struggles with feelings of isolation and a desire to connect with others. Evan writes letters to himself as a therapeutic exercise suggested by his therapist. One of these letters is mistakenly found by a troubled classmate named Connor Murphy, who then dies by suicide shortly afterward. The couple’s relationship blossomed after the show’s renowned success.
