Supportive housing development in Clinton Hill to get makeover
CLINTON HILL — THE EMERSON DAVIS FAMILY RESIDENCE IN CLINTON HILL, a nearly 30-year-old supportive housing development, will be completely rebuilt and expanded thanks to a $1.5M allocation from Councilmember Crystal Hudson (D-35), the Brooklyn Paper reports. Opened in 1996 and the only program of its kind in New York City, the residence supports adults with mental health issues who are at risk of losing custody of their children. Services offered 24/7 include case management, counseling, parenting skills training, employment services and tutoring.
The new development will be a 12-story, 103-unit building with both supportive and affordable housing. Construction is set to begin in 2025 and finish in 2028, ensuring continued support for families in need.
