Brooklynite spreads positivity, the antithesis of Manhattan hustle
BROOKLYN BRIDGE — Brooklyn native Jose Cruz, whose mission is to display a sign reminding Brooklynites and anyone crossing the bridge to be happy, is displaying signs on the Brooklyn Bridge saying, “Your life matters. You are loved.” Every week, Cruz stands with his message to inspire passersby and remind them of their worth. His initiative, “The World Needs Love Tour,” aims to break the stigma around expressing love and kindness to strangers. Cruz, who created and founded the movement, has gained more than 13,000 social media followers across the U.S. including in Philadelphia (the City of Brotherly Love), Miami, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Los Angeles.
Cruz, in his quest to uplift spirits, says, “I’m just trying to inspire other people to find their purpose, to spread positivity, to spread love.”
