Moon Unit Zappa and Molly Jong-Fast to appear in Williamsburg Sept. 5

WILLIAMSBURG — MOON UNIT ZAPPA will join Molly Jong-Fast to celebrate the launch of Zappa’s memoir “Earth to Moon” at Oaks Church Brooklyn on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. Moon Unit is the daughter of the legendary musical visionary Frank Zappa. At the age of fourteen, she appeared in her father’s music video, “Valley Girl,” which later helped jump-start her career. Since then, Moon has worked as an actress, writer, comedian, artist, businesswoman and podcaster. “Earth to Moon” describes a life “punctuated by the whims of genius, the tastes of popular culture, the calculus of celebrity, and the nature of love,” according to the event sponsor, Greenpoint’s WORD Bookstore. Molly Jong-Fast is a contributing writer at Vanity Fair, a political analyst at MSNBC News and host of the popular podcast “Fast Politics.”
