WILLIAMSBURG — WILLIAMSBURG’S ZAAB ZAAB IS HOSTING A POP-UP EVENT CALLED “PANDAN PROJECT 2.0” on Aug. 31, celebrating pandan with a variety of sweet and savory dishes. The event, at 208 Grand Street, features collaborations with Southeast Asian brands like Honeycakes, Moonman and Kinhfolk. Attendees can enjoy unique offerings such as pandan onion smash burgers, pandan coconut honey cakes and pandan lattes. The pop-up runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are available on Eventbrite for $5.04, with a portion going toward the event bill.

Native to Southeast Asia, pandan is a tropical herb known for its unique sweet aroma. Its leaves and fruit are edible and commonly used in both sweet and savory culinary creations, including Vietnamese banh bo nuong and curries in places like Malaysia and Indonesia.
