BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — POLICE RESPONDING TO a 911 call just before midnight on Saturday found an unconscious man with body trauma at a Gates Avenue location housing formerly homeless and low-income individuals in Bedford-Stuyvesant. According to police, EMS responded to the call and pronounced the man deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The police investigation is ongoing.

The man’s body was found at the Gibb Mansion, once home to a millionaire merchant, now an exquisitely-restored facility which provides low-income and formerly homeless with therapeutic services, classes, a library, computer lab and more, according to Brownstoner, which chose the mansion as its “Building of the Day” for four consecutive days in 2014.
