Police release footage of suspect in Bed-Stuy cold case
BED-STUY — Police on Monday released new surveillance footage of a person of interest in a 13-year-old cold case homicide, in an ongoing attempt to find the killer of Jamal Singleton, age 22; Singleton was killed with a single shot to the back on the night of Sept. 19, 2011, by an unknown gunman, in front of his Greene Avenue home in Bed-Stuy. The killer then fled west on Greene Avenue, and was described at the time as a male, approximately 6’2″, and wearing a blue baseball cap and a blue sweat suit; in the new footage, which has not been seen before, the individual can be seen covered head to ankle in blue or green, walking purposefully.
